My World

I am a little soul from the land of Mahabharatha. Sometimes, I feel like Kunti, the Mother of Pancha Pandhav. Often I would feel the torment of Draupadi in the hand of Dushashanas. I like to go back and see with my own eyes an era that had given us a storyline...My World..

DREAMS DEFINED

Dreams are not what you see
when you close your eyes
Dreams are not to fly sky high
Building castles in the air
is not what dreams are made of
For crashing down, they do not fly in the sky

Dreams are what makes you
think what you want
Dreams are the visions that your mind has received
Other people may laugh at you
but you move ahead with your head held high
Dreams dont let you sleep till they are achieved

I, Me And My

Day and night twenty four seven
Have you ever wondered why?
The words we use most
Are I, me and my.

We forget to say we
Let alone they
But is it right to carve for ourselves
Such a lonely way.

Why don’t we think thoughts that include all?
Why do we separate ourselves
When we know that will be
Our downfall?

Individuals were made by God
He gave us an independent mind
God was loving to us
Can’t we be just as kind?

Its time when we stand
In front of the mirror and see
How we can try and change
I, me, my to we.

If we don’t change our ways
Till the end when we have to die
The three words will be on our lips
I, me and my.

Think, O intelligent souls
Would we have been born to die?
If God wouldn’t have been generous
If he would have stuck to I, me and my.

Love the feeling

What is love?
Is it the need to be with someone?
Is it to feel concern?
Is it to feel the emotions
Always on a run?

Does it always have a human form?
Does it need to have a face?
Or can it be just a cloudy dream
Enshrined in a haze?

Does it blossom only to possess?
Does it give only to own?
Or is it just a feeling to enjoy
Whenever you feel alone?

I know I am in love
But I can never make it mine
For my love is in the pages of a book
In a veil, in a shrine.

Can it not be love?
Can it just be a feeling mere?
Can it leave me forever
With the drop of a few tears?

But the strength it gives?
Doesn’t love proclaim to do so?
The feeling of loving all
Be it a friend or a foe

I can be in love
With a dream protected by a haze
I can be in love
With a faceless face

When Conflict Asks of Serenity

How does it feel to be divided?
How does it feel to expect?
How does it feel to be not understood?
How does it feel to lose self-respect?

Why do we do things that go wrong?
Why do we never decide right?
Why do we feel never at peace?
Why do we go through this inner fight?

When will we learn to not be wrong?
When will this ordeal end?
When will we be confident about ourselves?
When will right be our friend?

What is right and what is wrong?
What is the way to do the task?
What is the way you can smile upon yourself?
What is the answer to all that I ask?

The tide of emotions that sweep you away
Is it good, is it bad; you hardly know
You feel your mind to be at war with your heart
And you cannot decide which way to go.
You feel you are an island
Surrounded by the turgid mind
With torrential emotions showering down
Oh! Can Nature be never kind?

At one point of time the agony will end
Days will seem to travel in the same vein
But the smooth life that has been crumpled
Will it ever be the same again?

The answer you will get not in your mind
For your fair conscience has closed the door
You will get them when you kneel down before God
And ask for love nothing more

Love is the strength that moves us on
Love makes our obstinate mind weak
Love conquers all conflicts
Love is the only desire for you to seek

today the last school day for KPS

The first day was two years ago
The last day is today
And in between a million
Feelings are there to say

The first day we were new
Happy, alone and eager to please
Now we are a group
Always out for a tease

The first day we didn’t know
The faces that have become dear to us
Earlier we counted ourselves with all
Now we have separated from the mass

Earlier we would holler at each other
And 7 names will turn 7 heads
And now 1 name is what
We answer to instead

Earlier the school was where we belonged
But now we have moved a long way
Now it’s our group we belong to
For school life is going far away

In one single moment
Can all ties break?
Can one single fault
Let the whole ship wreck?

But we are the valiant sailors
We will sail through calm and high tide
We are seven strong individuals
We are always ready for a fight

We will do whatever we need
To protect our team
Not a single crack will come
Not a ray will be missing in the beam

From now on every single day seven devotees
Only one prayer sends
That we all remain one
Till the world ends

Home Sweet Home

The day I stepped out of the house
To begin a journey of my own
Tough I had my friends with me
Yet I was all alone

I remember the tears that had filled my eyes
The tears that I refused to shed
The tears that were soon forgotten
As I looked at my life ahead

I embarked on a new phase
Which began with a night and a day
Though the trip was a short one
The journey was a long way

A minute had not passed
When I didn’t miss my home
Yet I felt they were with me
That it was a home away from home

This trip changed my life
It will never be the same again
For the trip taught me independence
Which won’t be a loss, but a gain

I know now that I have to move on
Round the world I have to roam
And with pride I will roam around
Because to look back I have my home sweet home

WAR

This is one of the poems I had written at a younger age. I had lost it. But recently I found it among some old papers. I want to share this with you too.

WAR
War is going on, soldiers are set
Starting from sunrise till sunset
This is the famous World War I
It again begins with the rising sun.

But war is a subject we should always shun
For it creates nothing but destruction.

Few years later World War II
Was very famous and destructive too
It had ended with people on the run
With more ashes and more destruction

Several years later when everything was right
Happiness everywhere, was nowhere in sight
When suddenly it had started, the Kargil war
Followed instantly by the Iraq War
All of us waited for India to win
With baited breath, no sound, no din
Somebody lost a brother, somebody lost a son
But it didn’t matter for we had won

God from above looks down and says
War is destruction, nothing to praise
One day you all will never be seen
Everything will be destroyed, everything unseen

You kill your fellow brothers because I have made you sane
You think out plans to kill for I had given you a brain
